Colt catch up

It is so sad how bad I have been about documenting Colt. He is now 2 months old and is so darling.  We have had a lot of ups and downs with colic, acid reflux, milk intolerance, and breastfeeding.  It is safe to say this baby has thrown me for a total loop.  I am realizing now how easy Liam was as a newborn and how little parenting we are in control of and that babies come with such different personalities.  Colt just started to smile a lot this last week and is sleeping mostly through the night.  I finally feel like I have his health issues semi under control and that makes the last two months a blur, survivor mode at its finest.  Colt is such a mamas boy and a cuddler, both i'm not used to from Liam.  He loves to be swaddled and rocked.  He loves Liam and often has his eyes locked on whatever Liam is doing.  I feel so blessed to have such beautiful healthy boys...or as Liam calls it "my big baby and my little baby"!

For the first month he only would sleep on my chest

Date Night

In November I decided to surprise Josh with concerts tickets to Michael Buble.  He kept saying how we should go but I wasn't sure if I'd be up to it three weeks post baby.  Well I recovered quicker than I thought I would so I was sneaky and met a guy off of ksl and got a couple tickets.  I wanted to surprise him the night before but he had a meeting the night of the concert so I had to tell him a week ahead.  I had baby sitting arranged and it was so nice to go to dinner and just hang out together alone.  We ate our food so fast (we've gotten in the habit since Liam) that we were to early so we sat at the restaurant and just talked.  It's been so long since we have had an uninterrupted conversation.  I felt like a teenager.  Anyways, here are some pics from the concert.  It was SOOO fun!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving day Liam decided to nap for 3 hours, we actually had to wake him up and it has been a long time since that has happened.  We went to my parents house for dinner and it was really strange to have two of my siblings missing.  Charlie watched us eat close by  though...

Since the weather was so nice I let Liam blow off some steam outside.  He had so much fun digging in the dirt and kicking the ball, Im glad I had my camera to snap a few pictures!

Car accident

At my 38 week appointment with Colt,  Liam came with me and we met Josh there.  After he went to run errands so Liam and I decided to stop a couple places as well.  I called my sister in law to tell her how my appointment went as I was driving down 9th east.  All the sudden I saw a car fly across the side walk and smash into a fence.  Like literally it rolled and flew out of no where.  I panicked and told her I had to go and call 9-11.  As I pulled over I noticed Josh was a few cars ahead and was pulling over to help.  I pulled into a parking lot, dialed 9-11 and headed towards the car.  All I could see was blood on the windshield and an old man getting out of the car, right then Josh yelled to me to go home NOW.  I was super emotional and got back in trying to process what happened.  I ran a quick errand, called my sis in law back and let her know Josh was there helping.  I started thinking and it clicked, oh my gosh Josh wasn't just helping....he hit them.  I called him and he told me it was him and that he was talking to the police and would call me back.  After the longest hour of my life I found out that the old man had missed his turn and swerved back into traffic, Josh rear ended him and sent them flying.  Luckily the lady wasn't severely injured but did have to go to the hospital.  I know this is a total random/morbid story.  But the week before I had Liam Josh cut himself and had to be stitched, so I only thought it appropriate he stick to tradition and do something to scare me.  Thank goodness Josh walked away unharmed!

Family Pictures

We had another awesome photo shoot with Stacey Wall Photography when Colt was 1 week old.  She always does such a great job and we are lucky she did one last shoot with us before she retires.  Liam sat very still to get a couple solo shots but when the four of us sat down for a family picture he was done.  We got ONE shot of him holding still and luckily it turned out great, Colt is crying, but the fact Liam is sitting still and smiling is huge.  Then when we tried to get sibling shots Liam wanted nothing to do with it.  Stacey gave Liam a little toy plane and he flew it over Colts face then was done.  I felt deflated at the end of the night and worried it was all for nothing but then when she sent them to me I couldn't have been happpier.  She did a great job at capturing Liams personality, even through the chaos.  Here you go....
