Santa x 5

Liam was so lucky this season to sit on Santa's lap five times!

The first was at my parents neighborhood gully party.  I was nervous Liam would be scared and he clung to me a little while he waited in line but happily sat with Santa when it came his turn.  Santa asked what he wanted and he thought for a second and said "Hendrix"...

The second was at our ward Christmas party (compliments of a pro photographer) I threw Liam on his lap and snapped a picture so quick that I don't even know if Santa said anything to him.

The third time was at the Johnson family Christmas party, Liam was pretty excited that Santa had a present for him, he was very serious...until we said smile for the camera and he flashed the cheesiest smile while saying "CHEESSSSEEE"!!

The fourth time picture won't load for some reason but it was the same Santa above, just a different family party.

This last Santa was my FAVORITE one.  A few nights before Christmas we were sitting at my parents house when all the sudden my Dad stood up and said Liam go to the front door someone is here for you.  I was so confused...til I heard jingling bells.  Santa came in and sat in the front room and Liam hurried onto his lap.  I had NO idea who it was.  Santa asked Liam what he wanted for Christmas and he said a choo choo and looked into Santa's bag.  Then proceeded to tell Santa the "grandmas choo choo broke" (we told him Santa had it at the north pole) and pointed out his truck jammies, shoes, piano, dog, and coat.  Santa gave him a candy cane and some milk and cookies to leave out for him.  When he got up to leave he handed my Mom a letter and said "Merry Christmas from Los Angeles California!"  Liam watched him walk down the drive way and asked me if Santa was going to find his magical reindeer.  As soon as we realized the letter was hand written from Charlie I lost it.  It was such a magical small thing that meant SO much to my family and I.  Something I will never forget!

I don't want to continue blogging Christmas and all the fun we have been having without giving Liam his own post.  Liam is in the funnest stage right now!
He says the funniest things...

With a whistle in his mouth "Mom, I'm your coach!"

After picking him up from out date night last week I was wearing a new top "Mom, I lika your shirt"

"I'm so handsome"

"Is Charlie working?"
"Is Charlie in the clouds?"

"Guess what?  Grandma is coming over!"
"Guess what?  Lisa is coming over!"

"Mom! Colt is smiling at me!"

"I did something naughty"

When he does something naughty I usually say "that wasn't very nice Liam" so the other day I was frustrated and threw a diaper on the floor and he said "that wasn't very nice Mom" I couldn't help but laugh and apologize

He calls every empty card board box his "doghouse"

I don't know where or why he came up with this but he doesn't actually call me mom he calls me "mom mom" but in one word.  It's so adorable.

But he also calls me Chelsy.  At rite aid a few weeks ago he was yelling to me "Mom mom I need to buy this" pointing to a toy machine thing.  I ignored him and soon me (and everyone in line) heard him get frustrated and yell "CHELSY I NEED TO BUY THIS!" He sure knows how to get my attention.

Whenever Colt is crying Liam will try to cheer him up by singing "stop crying" to a sweet little tune.

We have had a few issues with Liam trying to take on to much responsibility with Colt...Picking him up and giving him medicine.  One Saturday while I was at work Josh was in the kitchen warming a bottle while Colt was is his swing.  When he came back in Colt was laying on the couch....Liams response "It's ok Dad, I carry Colt"

He really is such a good brother and has a very sweet heart.  If he does to something naughty he is quick to apologize.  He will fall and land on something and hurry and say "sorry table" "sorry book" "sorry doggy"

He loves piggy back rides, giving thumbs up, making forts and tents, pirates, planes, firetrucks fighters and stations.

Colt catch up

It is so sad how bad I have been about documenting Colt. He is now 2 months old and is so darling.  We have had a lot of ups and downs with colic, acid reflux, milk intolerance, and breastfeeding.  It is safe to say this baby has thrown me for a total loop.  I am realizing now how easy Liam was as a newborn and how little parenting we are in control of and that babies come with such different personalities.  Colt just started to smile a lot this last week and is sleeping mostly through the night.  I finally feel like I have his health issues semi under control and that makes the last two months a blur, survivor mode at its finest.  Colt is such a mamas boy and a cuddler, both i'm not used to from Liam.  He loves to be swaddled and rocked.  He loves Liam and often has his eyes locked on whatever Liam is doing.  I feel so blessed to have such beautiful healthy boys...or as Liam calls it "my big baby and my little baby"!
