Merry Christmas from The Johnson Family

December Part 1

December was a roller coaster ride.  There were really good days and really bad days for us.
We kicked off December with Santa sending a letter to Liam.

Elsa came to Cash's birthday party and it was so fun to watch Liam's reaction.  Even though he doesn't look thrilled in this picture, he was pretty excited to give her a hug!

I set up my Christmas a little early, since I needed to do an inventory of what we had and what we needed.  Here is how it started out!

Colt was such a tropper in December, he went to A LOT of stores and spent a lot of time entertaining himself.  Bless this sweet baby!  He even tried on a hat for Lila.

The young women from our old ward were having a babysitting night and invited Liam to come, when he was leaving I said say goodbye to Jane so naturally they gave each other big hugs and kisses it was so adorable!

This kid marches to the beat of his own drum

I heard some laughing from both of them so I thought it better check to see what trouble they were causing, when I walked in Liam was catching Colt sliding down the slide.
But when I walked in 5 minutes later...Colt was catching LIAM!

It isn't like my kids to get upset when I have to leave for work or if they are left with a sitter.  Liam was extra emotional one Saturday morning, and I was extra late.  As I pulled away from the house I saw him crying and banging on the window, it was so heartbreaking!
My mom surprised Liam with his own Santa suit, he loves dressing up.  The costume was a huge hit and he rarely took it off.  He even asked if he could wear it to school.  The best part is he would say "Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas!" {in a deep voice} and he would load up a bag full of all his toys and make me sit on his lap and tell him what I wanted they he'd give me something from his bag.  It was soo dang cute.
Late one night my phone crapped out (except we don't say crap ;)) so the next morning I hurried and fed the kids got us all dressed and started getting them in the car so we could get to the cell phone store first thing.  While buckling Colt he pooped so I changed him then finally everyone was in the car...and my car wouldn't start.  Feeling like a pilgram with no phone I hurried and sent Josh and email from the computer letting him know my car and phone were dead.  I knocked on my very sweet neighbors door and asked her to jump me.  While I waited for her to come over I kept trying my car and finally got it to start.  We got to the cell phone store, they looked at my phone and said yep you need a new one but you'll have to go down town for it.  Load the kids back up then drive down town.  Heavenly Father had my back because when I got there I was the only one there and by the time we left people were waiting in a long line.  Of course I came ill prepared with no toys or snacks but I did find a bag of cheese its that had been in my bag for who knows how long.  At one point I had to help the guy who was working on my phone and when I turned around colt and Liam were sitting quietly in a pile of millions of crumpled up cheese its.  I apologized profusely, then asked if i could use their employee bathroom for Liam, unless they wanted to clean up pee too!  2 hours later and a new phone we got into the car with barely enough time to drive out to Gardner Village for adventure days with our ward.  As I buckled Colt Liam dinked around and was weaving in and out of the seats "exercising" when he smacked his lip and fell hard.  Blood. Blood. Blood. More blood.  I strapped him in, threw a blanket on his mouth and headed to instacare, we are regulars there.  On my way I called Josh {in tears duh} he dropped what he was doing and met me, bless his heart.  The cut was bad but had stopped bleeding and Josh didn't think they could stitch it.  We headed home for naps, we were back by 12:30 even though it felt like we had been gone for 20 hours.  It was just one of those days.  I tried taking a picture of Liams lip but it was so fat he couldn't figure out how to move it.
Josh's family had a Christmas party at Holladay City Hall and Liam asked if he could dress up as Santa.  When He walked in he yelled "HOHOHO MERRY CHRISTMAS!"
Then the REAL santa came, it was like a dream for Liam.

 Waiting patiently for his turn
He looked like a little elf on the shelf with his hands perfect placed together

Finally it was his turn, he talked Santas ear off.  He asked for a "racken hacken fracken sacken hootin shootin poopin scoopin...skateboard!"
 Colt was NOT a fan

A few days after the party we were shopping at Macys when we saw Santa again.  When he asked Liam what his name was Liam was taken back "It's me....Liam."
Santa asked what he wanted for Christmas and Liam said "Umm...remember I already told you?"

He called Santas bluff and when we walked away Liam asked me if that was the real Santa or the fake one.  Haha.

 Colt was not havin it..again.

This might be my all time favorite picture from December.  Liam was naked, as usual, and he started taking ornaments off the the front of my tree and putting them in the back, requiring him to climb up on the ledge in front of my big front window that wraps around our corner.  I was on the phone with Ave and I said hold on I gotta take a picture of what Liam is doing right now!

November 2014

Oh man.  Life has been so busy, my boys are even busier.  Here are some highlights from our November!

As I mentioned in Liam's birthday post his Grandma Kris gave him a grasshopper for his Birthday.  It stayed alive for a really long time and I was so worried he would be let loose in my house.
Liam Would have conversations with him like this picture
"hey grasshopper, how is your week?"
He even named him...
"PINCH IT"

One night I walked into Liam's room to find the grasshopper laying on his back shaking.  I called Josh in and while we were trying to decide what to tell Liam he walked in behind us and said "uhhh guys what are you doing in my room?"
I told Josh not to tell him, I didn't feel like a melt down.  But Josh did and Liam was really upset.  He cried and cried then he said "it's ok I will go get my tools so I can fix him!"  It was really sweet how much love Liam had for a bug.  We told Liam that the grasshopper went to Heaven with Jesus and we will find him another one in the spring.

A couple weeks later Liam and I were driving in the car when something must have reminded him of pinch it because he got really somber and said
"mom, we should go to Heavenly Father and ask to talk to Jesus then say Jesus...Jesus...Jesus LISTEN TO ME.  Give me my grasshopper back ok?"  He was so serious it was hard for me to not laugh hysterically.  I turned around and asked him to show me his grasshopper face....

Oh and Liam went through a nudist stage in November, and I'm hoping never again.  We would literally be walking from the garage to the house and he would start stripping.
This is Liam "just excercising,mom"
Even Colt acted like "where'd this guy come from?"
We also had some flooding from our upstairs bathroom to the downstairs which are our only bathrooms with tubs so after a couple days of sponge baths I stuck these kids in my kitchen sink, they acted like they had never taken a bath before!
 Pure Joy
The curiosity museum with John, I put my hands up by my phone and wiggled my fingers so they would look at me...they are the cutest buddies

Church really took it out of Liam because when we left him alone for 5 minutes we found him passed out on a bed of candy with the remote close by, tough life.

 "Mom, I need to race!"

"Mom, come look at this it is so adorable!"
For our Christmas gift from Josh's parents they took all of us to Disney on Ice.  We left colt home with Grandma so that we could enjoy it with Liam.  He had so much fun!

 "I brought you breakfast!"
Oranges, Bananas, and a capri sun to share!

Josh's cousin Austin and his wife Lexi are in our ward.  It is so fun to sit by them in sacrament, and we loovvee teasing Austin.  Liam is obsessed with Austin and Lexi, they are so cute with him!

Josh and Liam went to a U of U basketball game one night together.  Of course they came home with stuff.  When I asked Liam how it was he said "It was so fun but dad asked if I wanted to get on the big screen and I said that would be so dangerous!"  Haha It was really cute.  I love that Liam is at an age now that he can do fun things with his dad!

Colt Is such a dog/animal lover
I think Hendrix likes Colt the most, probably because he feeds him all of his food.

It was so funny when I put them on this car ride they both just sat quietly looking around, which if you know my boys that never ever happens.

Thanksgiving Eve the 4 of us went and saw the box trolls, which I do not recommend.  But the boys had fun and Colt loved eating unlimited popcorn.

I didn't take any pictures of Thanksgiving dinner but we were with Josh's family at Holladay City Hall.  Later that night we went Bowling with Gregg, Kris, Lisa, and Spencer.

It was so weird to be bowling on Thanksgiving.  Liam's favorite part was the arcade..OK I liked it too.

I finished the day with some hardcore black Friday shopping with Channers.  We shopped from 10 to 4 then 7 to 10 then 5 to 9.  It was crazyY!
