My main man Ray

I was Folding Josh's clothes today
and I just had to take a picture of this.
He has 4 pairs of the same American Eagle
Jeans.  Same wash, same store, same cut.
He swears they all fit different.  He gets anxiety if
his "favorite" pair aren't available to him at any time.
He is just so funny.

Ready?? Nooo

We have had such a busy month (I feel like
a majority of my posts start this way, oh well.)

It has been an interesting, crazy, emotional, and
fun month.
I was really excited for Christmas so I started set up
a week before Thanksgiving.
Then I was so mad that some of the lights were out on
my tree I didn't finish decorating til Thanksgiving.
The final product....

Our Thanksgiving went mostly like this...

You can't tell but he is playing poker on his phone while
watching football.  Marvelous.

We did the typical family stuff.  Then Friday morning Charlie and me

Went with all the crazies black Friday shopping.
It was INSANE.  It felt like it was all a daze by the time we were done.
But guess what?  All of my Christmas Shopping is done, wrapped,
and under the tree. Whew.  I don't know if I will be
attending the mad fest again next year, but it was a fun
one time thing and now I can sit back and enjoy December!!!

P.s. We saw Unstoppable friday night and LOVED it.  Go see it!

Lazy Nights..

Josh and I have been working a TON lately.
With the holidays coming up it is sure to get busier.
By the time we both get off work we are exhausted.
We come home eat dinner and just watch TV and walk
on each others backs!  Last night Josh and I were laying on the big
couch and Hendrix decided he wanted in.  We usually don't let
him on the couches but we were to tired to fight him and he
is a snuggler.  He laid at our feet and it was so cute.
I wish I could have taken a picture of our happy little family all on one
couch.  Hendrix was snoring while we watched the history channel.
I love nights like these especially with us working so much it's nice to just
spend time together and relax.

Here are some of our shows we have been watching:

Pawn stars
Chopped
Next Iron Chef
Vampire Diaries
Greys Anatomy
The Office
Big Break Dominican Republic
Jerseylicious (Josh has to be asleep for me to watch this)
Best Thing I ever ate
Undercover Boss

Vampire Diaries

I am thoroughly obsessed with Vampire Diaries. If you haven't gotten into it your seriously missing out. You have to start from the beginning. The show is based on the book series that I read, I don't recommend the books. Even Josh has started to be interested in it when i watch them. It's on Thursday nights on channel 30 but I don't know what time, I record them. I know there is this huge vampire craze that is totally overrated since twilight BUT I feel like this show is more entertaining. I know it's crazy to say I would relate to vampires but I love the casting. Try it out so I can have some people to talk about it with!!!

P.S. I have been blogging about everything on my mind so excuse me if I ramble.

Crunch....

This was my view driving home today. Lovely. I can't get enough of this weather. I wish it would be like this year round.

By the time I got home this awaited me. So crisp and refreshing.

I love the sounds and smell of fall/winter.

Oh and my other favorite thing about fall, BOOTS!!! Here is my latest purchase.

Hunger Games

Ok, I just have to post about my obsession with the hunger games. I was one of the last ones to catch on to this book and I'm so glad i didn't miss out. I just finished the third last night. I definitely loved the 1st and 2ND the best. The 3rd one dragged on for pretty much the whole book right up to the ending. Everyone kept telling me i was not going to like the ending but can i just tell you i LOVED it. I just got so into these books. I felt like i was apart of them, it got scary. I was in an elevator the other day and was sure when it opened Effie Trinket and Haymitch were going to be standing there leading me to my prep team. Seriously guys I'm a nerd. If you haven't read them I highly suggest them and they are such an easy read. I'm trying to get Josh to read them because I'll be laying in bed at night just going over them in my head and i need to discuss them out loud. Ha ha. This post makes me sound crazy. On a more sane note I'm putting my no facebook to good use and have been much happier reading then people stalking!!
I snapped this picture when we were in Lake Powell. Seeing all the beauty around us daily and the wonderful things mother nature provides reminds me how great God is and his love for us for giving us such a beautiful earth to live on.

Whats cookin' good lookin'

So for the first time EVER Josh cooked! We went to walmart Saturday night for some groceries and Josh took an interest in what we were having the next few days. He saw some plantains that inspired him to make me a traditional Dominican breakfast....plantains and eggs. Of course I had to document it.
First he smashed the plantains and fried them in oil. (it smelled awful)
He had me try one and they were like bitter crunchy french fries.

Then he scrambled up some eggs and put it all together. (sorry about the pic quality)
Bottom line...when you are serving a mission in a poor country things like this become a treat. Once you've been back in America for 5 years it's just not the same. But it was fun to see him be so passionate about trying to cook.

BookFace

Ok besides being SUPER excited for the new season of the office, I have done something HUGE. Ok maybe it's not huge to some people but...I have officially de-activated my Facebook. I know I can't believe I did it either. I was laying in bed the other night trying to figure out how I can get more done in a day. Well even though I didn't want to admit it I knew. I spend at least 1 hour a day on Facebook (sometimes more). Not only is it saved under my favorite sites on my mac but I have Facebook on my phone!!! Needless to say I can't believe how much of a time waster it is. The other night I was watching one of Josh's shows with him and he mentioned how I wouldn't be sitting with him if I had Facebook. Sad. Even my significant other recognizes my time waster. There are MANY positive things about Facebook. But for me it is getting it the way. I am going on two weeks with no Facebook and can I just say how spectacular it feels!! I am not going to lie I might re-activate it...one day. But right now I am loving not feeling a slave to status updates and knowing what is going on with everyones day!! Now all of my real friends can read my much more personal blog!!!

My Josh Boy

Happy Birthday Josh!!!
If you can't tell by now I am head over heels for this man!!!
I found this picture of him while compiling his birthday present.
Josh turned 26 on October 5th. He is depressed that now he is closer to thirty than twenty. I like to celebrate birthweek instead of birthday. (unless it's May 13th then it's birthmonth.) So we started out birthweek by having a fabulous dinner at Ruth's Diner Monday. On Tuesday we went to "The Social Network", if you haven't seen it yet GO. We went to Ruby River for dinner because my man has got to have a steak!! Thursday we went to our most favorite place The Cinegrill with Josh's fam. Then topped the evening off with some quality time at Sportsmans Wearhouse picking out a hunting outfit for the Elk hunt. Josh clicks with everyone he meets!! Last year I called my aunt who lives out of state to chat and all she wanted to know was how her "josh boy is" after only meeting him twice. He makes friends every where we go and its rare we go out without seeing at least a few people he knows well. Although Josh does not get as excited as I dream of him getting for his birthday I really got to take a minute to step back and look at how great my life is with Josh. I couldn't be happier! Josh is such a hard worker, he is SO patient, and he has the best sense of humor!!! There are many more things I love about him and continue to find more things and fall even more in love with him everyday!! And every now and then I just have to BRAG!!!

If these chairs could talk

This is the salon furniture that I was so lucky to get passed down from Josh's Grandma Phyllis. She had a salon in her home and was a Beautician to support her 4 children. Hopefully we can find a house and build a salon in the basement for me. These obviously need some work. So we are having them restored and re-upholstered. I want to keep them as retro as possible but still keep their charm. I took this picture the other day and have been starring at it brainstorming how I want to design them. I can't help but think how many conversations happened in these chairs. The chair on the Far left is the chair where clients would get their hair permed, cut, rolled, styled, and colored. And I'm sure there was (as in every salon) a lot of advice, gossip, recipes, therapy, crying, and laughs given and received. I can't wait to use this furniture and I feel so honored that I can stand right were Phyllis stood and have the same conversations and memories with my clients!

Time for a new post

OK so since I've blogged last we....

We went to the Oakley Rodeo!!

......
Celebrated our 2 year anniversary!!! It is so crazy how fast time flies. To celebrate we spent two wonderful nights at the homestead in midway. It was so fun and relaxing. We shopped the outlet mall, went to the crater, and got wonderful massages.
It was a perfect way to celebrate!! The only picture I snapped was of us sitting on the patio of our room so I'll post a not so typical wedding picture. I love this man so much and we have had so many fun times together!!!
I can't imagine were I would be without him!!!

If you can't tell what is happening here let me explain. Apparently Josh and my photographer are telepathic because they gave each other a look and before I knew it we were flying down a hill and spinning and skidding. It was unexpected and all i was thinking about was grass stains down my dress right before my reception.
..................

We ripped all of our tile out. It was/is a huge job and Josh was so great to work late nights trying to get it done. It is ALMOST done...we just have to finish grouting!! It will be so nice to have all my tile match. And it's so nice to have a working dishwasher, sink, toilet, and soon to be washer and dryer.

Thanks Char and Matt for your help!!!

...................

We went to Movie under the stars at the capitol
We saw quite a few movies this summer and LOVED Inception
We went to Lake Powell
We went Camping
We have had a lot of fun driving around on Sundays house hunting
We went to st. George and vernal for work

And after summer is said and done I'm sad i didn't get more pictures but we had so much fun just hanging out and being together!! And although we go through waves of wanting a baby...we are happy just the two of us for now!!!

Laundry

Laundry is one of those things that makes people want to put their head through the wall.
I have been there.
Its something that ALWAYS needs to be done.
A couple weeks ago I decided I was sick of spending my only day off sorting and folding and putting away and hanging up.
I started doing a little at a time when I got home from work
and before I got ready for the day.
What a difference this has made in my life!
Now, I'm sure a lot of people have already
accomplished this and its
not that big of a struggle for some people, so sorry if I sound
rewarding. I don't feel like a slave to laundry!!
I finally got Josh to realize how easy it can be when we both
contribute to the laundry.
He knows now that if it's not in his hamper it's not getting clean.
After clothes are dry I make a pile of his and a pile of mine and he is in charge of putting his away. If he doesn't take care of them I put them on the floor
in his closet and after a while of wearing
wrinkled clothes he finally got the memo!!!
Our house is MUCH happier now that we have mastered
tackling the laundry.
Now if only I could have my dream laundry room...

My Guilty Pleasure

My ultimate guilty pleasure is Grey's Anatomy. Although this picture is from the beginning, I love that this is where it all started. I have gone through my favorite characters and I have finally settled. #1 Christina Yang I have grown to LOVE her humor and her attitude and how hard core she is. #2 Meredith Grey of course. I wouldn't like Christina so much had it not been for their undying friendship. And #3...or maybe #.5 MC DREAMY!! Just look at him...need I say more? I won't spoil the season finale from Thursday but i STRONGLY recommend season 6. Like most shows it had an "in a rut" season but this season has been like no other if you haven't watch it try it out!!!

Please Don't give pills to your sister!!!

This story was just to funny I had to share it!! I teach the 7 going on 8 year olds in primary. Last week my team teacher taught on the Priesthood. We were talking about ways to use the Priesthood and discussed the healing of the sick. She asked the boys in the class ways they can prepare to get the Priesthood. Thinking we were still talking about giving blessing to the sick, one of the boys raised his hand after a minute of no response. He said "Well we could like give our little sister a sleeping pill and practice putting our hands on her head and giving her a blessing." We both just looked at him making sure we heard him right. Poor kid was just trying so hard to answer the question and obviously was confused himself. After explaining what we really meant we made sure to remind the whole class to never give anyone pills!!!

Sunday Baseball never ends good at our house

Most Sundays at my parents we eat dinner then hangout and play either baseball or five crowns. On Mothers day my youngest brother Chambers was jumping on the tramp and landed on his ankle wrong. It got so swollen his ankle looked like a grapefruit (but blue)! Of course it is in the middle of baseball season so he had to miss a game. His ankle was feeling much better and he was planning on playing in his next game the following week. The sunday before his game he was playing catch with Matt and my Dad was telling a story at the table and said his name so Chambers turned to look at him and got the ball right on his eye!! It made a loud suction cup noise and he was on the ground! He was in shock!! He could barely talk and his leg kept shaking! All he could say was "why does everything bad have to happen on sundays!!" Me being totally freaked out just stood there taking pictures. Amazingly he didn't get a black eye, just a scratched cornea. He played his game and got smacked with the ball. Poor kid can't catch a break. Good thing bad things come in threes!! Charlie has now caught Chambers bad luck, starting with the tramp accident!!!

Legal

I am finally 21!!! It feels so great to be an "adult". My birthday was awesome! I went to lunch with my mom and sis then went shopping at Tai Pan and got a super cute purse and wallet. When I got home I had a new phone waiting for me from Josh! My new My touch is my life. I am so reliant on it. It is crazy what technology can do! We went to Tuccis for dinner then had pie with some of Josh's family. Saturday night we went to Asian star for dinner and it was SOOO good. I had never been there before and I will definitely be back! Friday at the salon the girls bought me lunch and a cake and surprised me with the cutest outfit from Bohem Boutique! I am so lucky to have such great family and friends that love me and spoil me!! Love you guys soo much!!

done list

Ok, lately i have been making tons of "to do lists"...This is my "done list" random things that have been going on in the Johnson house.

We keep attempting to do our taxes but it keeps saying either the gov. owes us 11,000 or we owe them 4,000. I am waiting for the tax fairy to take care of it for me.

Hendrix has learned that if he is in his kennel and doesn't want to be all he has to do is force himself to throw up and i immediately take him out to scrub it down. Fun.

After our trip to the Dominican Republic I am determined to travel the world. Ireland, Greece, Spain, Austraila...just to name a few.

Day trips to St. George eventually get overrated.

Golf season has started, see you in a few months Josh.

Everyday something reminds me why having kids right now would be crazy and i'm glad I can run to target without having to unload a stroller and all that fun stuff. ( No offense moms, i will join one day.)

If the seat belt chime won't turn off it is annoying enough to make you want to crash your car. (Josh made me learn how to jump my car) And i don't comprehend how turning it off cost me $117!!!!!

Sometimes I am very tired when I get off of work and accidentally park in the wrong stall. Sorry #36, if your reading this thanks for the awesome hate note on my car!!!! I did it on purpose just to drive you CRAZY!!!

Vogue magazines keep coming in my mail and I did not order them. If they are going to make a mistake at least send me something better then VOGUE.

Never cut past your second knuckle. Ouch.

And My purse is so heavy I think it is giving me shoulder problems.

I bought New moon Saturday night and watched it twice in 24 hours. I still can't decide which team to join!!!

Sorry if this whole thing sounded totally negative, but trust me it wasn't intended to be. Through all of our crazy moments I am reminded everyday how boring my life would be without them. I love my life and am so glad that nothing on my list contained death or illness. I feel so excited for the rest of 2010 and what it will bring!!

Dominican Republic

Our trip started off with us almost to the airport, then i realized i had forgotten my backpack with our passports and all of our electronics. Luckily we left enough time that we weren't to crunched. Our flight left salt lake city at 12 at night and this is a picture of us rolling into the JFK airport at about 6:00 a.m. to 18 degree weather! I love when you can see the moon and the sunrise!

We got to the Dominican republic at about 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon, to 86 degree weather. We were so exhausted, we checked into our room at the MTC not knowing what to expect, when we opened the door to our room all we could do was laugh!!!

Monday we went to the "conde" which is their version of our gateway. It was very crowded. We went into different shops, checkin out anything worth buying. While we were buying some jewelry the lady at the shop heard josh speaking spanish (incredibly well might i add) and she said "weren't you an LDS missionary here a while ago?" They went on to talk and they knew a lot of people in common. I though it was awesome Josh had already run into someone he had connections with. (notice the dog just lying there, there were dogs everywhere that no one took care of, it made me so sad)

Monday Night we got to visit a family Josh Baptized. They were so sweet, although the language barrier was a huge challenge between us. Josh Baptized the lady in white with her sister (not in pic) and got their mom (in blue) going back to church. She married her husband in December, he had a baptized a few months before, and their son will be baptized in a couple weeks. They are also expecting a baby. We ate dinner at their house, which was "spaghetti" that consisted of a can of milk, corn, raisins, ground beef, and noodles. I could tell how hard she was trying to impress us so i pretend that i loved ground beef, i usually don't eat beef at all. After dinner we had family night. They sang a song and josh read some scriptures. We gave their son a new book of Mormon and he was so excited he asked us to write our testimonies, he thought it was hilarious that i didn't speak Spanish. Everyone went around the table and bore their testimony. Although i couldn't understand everything they were saying, i felt the spirit so strongly. Their love for the gospel showed on their faces, also i could tell how much they loved Josh for introducing them into the church. It was so great to see my husband in his other element. He is amazing and i know he has touched so many peoples lives there.

We were able to attend the temple everyday. It was nice to get the peace and quiet and off the streets. The first night we went and did a session and I couldn't find anyone who could speak English to help me I got so lost I broke down crying. The next night we went back and I made sure josh found me someone before he went off to the locker rooms. I had never been in a session before with only four people. I wish I could've stayed longer to help them with the work, they are very much in need. The temple was gorgeous, as always. While we were doing work in the temple Josh saw a lady from across the room he knew from his mission. After lecturing him on not calling her to let her know we were coming she was so excited to see him. The next day while waiting for the elevator in the mtc josh struck up a conversation with a missionary asking him what mission he was from and where he was from. The guy asked josh what his name was and told josh he had ties from him. Josh was thinking he meant connections but he pointed to his tie and said no i have TIES from you. I guess on their missions they trade ties or give them away and they had Joshs name on them, they had been passed down for five years to this other guy. I thought that was hilarious, we forgot to take a picture with him though,

We were able to see a lot of the city, and we went to the beach one day. We went to a cool old catholic church, some ruins, a monument where they have Columbus' bones, and a house Columbus built his son. We saw a few more people josh knew, by chance. The environment is so different there. I wish that pictures could capture half as wonderful as it was. I have so many experiences and feelings from the trip that cannot be described on paper. I am so glad we were able to make it back. I hope we can take our kids back one day.

When we were planning our trip we were really struggling choosing the week we wanted to go. We finally chose a week according to our schedules and josh having to go out of town. When the earthquake hit Haiti I was really concerned that it would hit again while we were there, because they are on the same vault line. Every factor that played into the week we booked slowing started unraveling, but I felt like we were inspired to choose the week we did. Although no life changing things happened I felt like we kept seeing people we wouldn't have had we gone the week before. Seeing a different country has really opened my eyes to how blessed I really am. Not only did it change my perspective but it also gave me a new light to see Josh him. I feel like I understand him so much better now seeing how he lived for two years. My 850 square foot condo felt like a mansion when we got home. I hope we get to travel more before we start a family!! I have already started a list of places i want to go....Greece, Ireland, Spain, Paris, Australia, Egypt, and Alaska. ( Just to name a few) To view more pics check out my facebook page

Just one of those days

Today has been such a frustrating day! We leave on our trip this saturday, aka there is a lot to be done! So my only days off are wednesdays, they are my days to do all of the laundry, mop the floor, clean the toilet, wipe the counters, vacuum, and all the misc. things that have to be done. I LOVE these days, I love cleaning! I love the satisfaction of having my whole house perfect!! Usually I wake up around eightish and start my wednesdays! Today started off with Josh coming home at 10:30 wondering why my phone was off and why I was still in bed, my alarm on my phone didn't go off because somehow it didn't hold a charge last night. So got up frustrated that my day had started off that way, got my sticky pad I write my "to do" lists on and started scribbling. First I went to change the laundry and guess what? The load Josh started last night is soaking wet, my washer is not draining!! Then my dog starts to whine, he needs to go out! On our way back in he decides to try to bite the leash and bites my hand HARD! My phone rings, Josh needs me to bring him lunch. I took him lunch then stopped at 7-11 to get some cash back for the complex laundry mat, then drove around to find a quater machine. I lug all of the soaking wet clothes over to the laundry mat start the laundry and decide to just go clean something else. So i grab the vacuum plug it in and its not working right. Josh vacuumed the carpets why they were still damp from the carpet cleaner the other day. Perfect. So I scrubbed the tub instead, something that I can do and it can't break. My brothers come over after school every wednesday, and they could sense how stressed I was so they helped me transport laundry back and forth, unloaded the dishwasher, and made me an awesome smoothie, they are the best! They decided that Hendrix needed a bath so they helped me with that to, but then the tub wouldn't drain! Now it is eleven o'clock and i'm just thankful that this wednesday it over! The washer is fixed, thanks to Josh and Matts hard work for a few hours, the vacuum just needed a new filter, my laundry is done, the floor is mopped, the tub is snaked, all that is left to do is clean out the fridge! It's days like these that, at the end of the day, make me so grateful for so many things...A (most of the time) functioning home, a very handy helpful husband, extremely supportive family and friends, good health, functioning arms legs hands, and that I can get on my knees at night and tell the Lord my weaknesses and my blessings and know that with no matter my trials, big or small, he always listens to me and he always loves me.

Our song is the way you laugh...

I thought it would be fun to put up my favorite "flashback" picture! This is Josh and I on our first date! For those of you who haven't heard the story here goes. I was tagging along with my friend ,Emily, one night and we went to a guy she had mets house to hangout, aka the "XI" house. There were so many people there, none that i knew, so i just stayed low key. There was a super cute guy sitting close by and we started talking about common friends and random things. Well a few days later my sister was begging me to find a date for our sorority barn dance. Emily, being the best friend she is, made a call and got this super cute guys number for me. I called him and asked him out (the night before the date) and was so excited when A: He remembered who I was and B: when he said he would go with me!! So this is us on our first date and the zeta barn dance!! We clicked from the beginning! It was so refreshing to date a guy who shared my standards and who was a complete gentleman! It didn't take him long to ask me out on our second date and now we have been married for almost a year and a half!! I love you Josh!!
PS The title of this post is taylor swifts our song lyrics, we sang this song twenty plus times on our first date!

Since the last time I blogged....

We got a new nephew, we booked our flight for our upcoming trip, we celebrated Christmas, and we celebrated New Years in bear lake! We have been so busy i think we are just barely catching out breath!!!

This is our new nephew Cash Johnson!! He was born on Dec. 1st at 5:15, here he is with his amazing parents Chas and Ashly Johnson!!! We are so excited to have a new baby in the family and continue to enjoy watching all of our other nieces and nephews grow up!!!

This is Josh on his mission in Dominican Republic!
We are so lucky to have the opportunity to go back
in February. I am so excited to see the place that
played a big part in making Josh who he is today!
I cant wait to share all of our pictures and experiences
with you!!!

For Christmas Eve this year we went to Mikado with
the Johnsons. It was so fun to spend time together
before all of the craziness!! We enjoyed just relaxing
and talking, with of course a game of
competitive wizard afterwards!

We went over to my parents house Christmas morning.
We had a delicious breakfast then opened up presents!!
I am so blessed for such an amazing family.

This is our other cute niece Ellie on new years.
Ellie and Jake gaveme a new years make-over
by going through
my purse and using everything i had in it on me!! It was so fun to ring in the new
year with family!

This is our cute niece Reina modeling the purse
we gave herfor Christmas!
I think I was most excited to give this present than any other one!
Every little girl loves having a purse
with her own essentials inside!
