Colt turns 1

I feel like a broken record but seriously, where did the last year go?  I remember wishing for this day since Colt was such a hard baby and now that it is here it's so sad and so happy!

Colt is such a unique little guy.  My boys could not be more different.

Loves:
Food
(anything and everything)
being held
waving hi and bye
throwing balls
clapping his hands
cuddling
taking baths
blowing whistles or anything that makes noise
His binkie and blankets
 hammering
watching out of the window
and trying to grab peoples tongues
animals (especially dogs)
playing in the toilet (this has got to stop)

Hates:
Getting out of the tub
wearing shoes and socks
getting his hair combed
when I go to work
broccoli

He really is such an easy going kid.  He sleeps great and Is always happy running errands with me.

Colt is not quite walking yet but he has taken a few steps here and there.  I think it will be any day now, heaven help me.

When Colt woke up on his birthday morning Liam greeted him by singing happy birthday and Colt was so excited he was standing in his crib clapping his hands with a smile plastered ear to ear.  It was adorable how much he soaked in the extra attention.

After we dropped Liam off at school we rand some errands and went to breakfast with grandma Jennifer.

Colt took a long nap and when he woke up we played and laughed and tried to give him lots of special attention for his day.  That night we had both sets of grandparents, chambers, Lisa, and Spencer over for Chinese food and cake and ice cream.  Colt loved all of his gifts, and Liam loved them even more.

Colt proved to me that we are no where near ready for a 3rd child in this moment

Lake Powell 2014

Josh's family goes to lake Powell several times a year and it's no secret it is not my thing.  Josh begged and pleaded for me to go and I finally caved and we went in October.
Liam LOVED it.  Not in an I had fun lets come back way but in a screamed bloody murder and asked to live on the boat for the rest of his life when we told him it was time to go home way.  Not a day has passed that he hasn't talked about grandpas boat or the house boat or the beach or just lake Powell.  The boys had so much fun which made it worth it BUT I won't be rushing back any time soon, it was so stressful and our kids are waayyy too young for such a dangerous vacation.

The drive there was...brutal, but seeing the colors through Spanish fork canyon helped.
Liam took pictures of colt on my phone

When we finally pulled up the boys were so excited from the view!  Liam jumped right into character.

"I am the captain of the houseboat"
Colt loved playing in the sand

These two are the best of friends

When we pulled the boat away from the beach Liam stuck his arm through the railing reaching for the beach crying "nooo I don't want to leave lake powell.  Goodbye beach"  It was so sad and so funny how emotional he was over it, while I did a happy dance.

We got home late Saturday night and my boys slept most of Sunday napping, there were soo exhausted.
